Nokia Asha 303

Nokia changes gear and heavily invests on emrging markets with a series of new phones. The higher end of the new series is the Nokia Asha 303; a 2.6-inch touchscreen device with QWERTY keyboard. Nokia claims that Asha's 303 screen has superior display, readable in direct sunlight. Under the keys and the capacitive screen, there is a 1GHz CPU, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and 3G chip, plus a 3.2 megapixel camera sensor. The Asha 303 supports up to 32GB microSD memory cards.


The Nokia Asha 303 is powered by the cloud-based Nokia Browser, which by compressing the web by up to 90%, provides higher speeds and a more affordable access to the Internet. Nokia claims standby time up to 30 days (GSM) and talk time up to 8 hours (GSM).

Entertainment and applications are also a core part of the Nokia Asha 303 offering. Angry Birds Lite, the popular mobile game, comes pre-installed, together with support for other globally relevant applications such as Facebook Chat, Whatsapp messaging, and the latest release of Nokia Maps for Series 40 (in selected markets). The price will vary from market to market and operator to operator. The estimated retail price for the Nokia Asha 303 will be approximately €115, excluding taxes and subsidies. It is expected to start shipping in the fourth quarter of 2011.
