Houston (AFP) - The U.S. government is investigating h following the discovery of dozens of corpses in a mass grave in Liberty County, the state of Texas, according to media reports on Tuesday (7 / 6).
A total of 20 to 30 bodies buried at the intersection of Country Roads 2049 and 2048 between Hardin and Daisetta, Liberty County Sheriff's Office said.
All the bodies were corpses of small children and cut into pieces, the report said. Most of the area, where all the bodies were discovered, is a vast region with a mixture of fields and a small wooded area.
A total of 15 vehicles the Sheriff's Office and a sniffer dog was on the scene, according to KHOU, the station told CBS television affiliate in Houston.
Authorities acted after receiving an information about the corpse, the report said.
The FBI has been deployed to conduct the investigation, along with sniffer dogs. Authorities were trying to obtain a search warrant to inspect homes in Hardin, but people so far "shows no cooperation".
