Rose youngest NBA MVP

Chicago - Derrick Rose was selected as Most Valuable Player (MVP) NBA regular season. In addition to being the youngest MVP, Rose also equal the record of the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Rose was elected after collecting the highest number in the assessment conducted by the media covering the NBA. Bulls point guard was collecting 1182 numbers thanks to become the first choice of 113 Voters.

Rose trailing in second place was the center Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard, with 643 points. In third position is LeBron James (Miami Heat), followed by Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers) and Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder) at position four and five.

At the age of 22 years, Rose became the youngest NBA MVP in history. He toppled a record that became MVP Wes Unseld with the Baltimore Bullets in 1969 at the age of 23 years.

Throughout this season, Rose recorded an average of 25 points per game and 7.7 assists per game. Thanks to the contribution of Rose, the Bulls managed to snatch the top ranking of the regular season with 62 victories.

Rose became the second player after Jordan's Bulls never be MVP. But Rose himself admits that he is still distant when compared with Jordan that has been so MVP five times and has six NBA championship rings.

"I can not even touch him (Jordan)," said Rose was quoted as saying Yahoosports modestly. "I'm still far away from him. It could approach her alone is great. This is a different team in a different era."

Humble
Rose Humility is very visible when he gave a statement after elected as the MVP. He thanked everyone, from fans to his team-mates. But in particular he thanked his mother, Brenda Rose, and his brothers.

"I think about how hard work my mother," Rose said with a choked voice.

"Those days were difficult. But all of them so it does not feel heavy because I love what I do, which was to play basketball. My mother made me keep the spirit every day and I love the mother," said Rose.
