Jakarta - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) officially opened the Summit (Summit) ASEAN in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). SBY welcome to all heads of state, heads of government, and all ASEAN delegates who attended the summit.
"On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Indonesia, allow me to convey congratulations came in Indonesia, His Excellency the heads of state and government leaders are friendly countries who came from the ASEAN region," said SBY.
SBY giving his speech for about 20 minutes in the Indonesian language in the opening of the ASEAN summit at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (05/07/2011). Nine leader (leader) listening carefully ASEAN SBY speech by using an interpreter.

SBY continued, the 18 th ASEAN Summit has significance for the efforts of the nations in ASEAN to deal with and provide solutions to challenges in the future. At the beginning of the 21st century, according to him, the challenges faced by highly complex, diverse, and cross country.
Head of State also expressed gratitude and pride that today more and more countries are eager to improve relations and cooperation with ASEAN. This confirms the increasing prestige of ASEAN as one regional organization succeed in the world.
"We've got the experience and lessons are many and valuable for over 40 years of working together," Yudhoyono added.
Looking at the current role of ASEAN, said Yudhoyono, a lot of things that can be offered to the regions or countries outside the ASEAN region. The eyes of the world are now focused on developing and advanced ASEAN.
"This fact should be an inspiration for us to work hard achieving the ASEAN community by 2015 and become increasingly beneficial partnerships to solve global problems," said SBY.
