Japan Requests for Gas Supply from Indonesia

VIVAnews - The government of Japan has officially called on additional gas and oil supply from Indonesia as an effort to deal with the lack of electricity supply following the damaged nuclear reactors in Fukushima.

"The amount of cut electricity supply equals the total electricity used in Java," said Japanes Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Makiko Kikuta in Jakarta today, March 17.

Makiki said Japan tries to have additional power supply from various places including Indonesia.

"Bapak Hatta (Coordinating Minister for the Economy) has responded over the request," said Makiko.
